WINDOW PAINTINGS by Marie Marfia |
Commission work How I make a painting Email me if you're interested in an image not presented here or an on-site installation. Care and feeding of window paintings Your window should last a long time. I've installed window paintings directly on south windows and never had a problem with fading colors. If you ever have a problem with your window fading, let me know and I'll make it right. To clean it, use a damp cloth on the painted side. You can use regular window cleaner on the non-painted side. Not appropriate for small children! A word of caution: Even though the paintings are whimsical in nature, these are not appropriate for hanging in rooms that are frequented by small children or pets. Since the windows are old and wooden the paint is constantly chipping off them and I have no way of telling whether the flakes are lead-based paint or not. Best to be safe and hang them where little hands can't reach them or just wait to buy until your kids are old enough not to go around putting non-food items in their mouths. |

| Welcome to the place where I have some of the most fun! These are paintings made using Gallery Glass paint on old windows that I find or buy or have given to me by friends. The designs and compositions are all originals and copyrighted. Each painting represents many hours of work done by hand. I don't use stencils. All the paintings have eyehooks on top with a chain attached for hanging. Please note: none of the prices listed includes shipping or Florida sales tax (7%). If you are interested in purchasing one of these windows and you don't live in Jacksonville, FL, email me to find out what it would cost to send it to you via UPS. Thanks for stopping. | ||||

Gator with Live Oak Tree This alligator was commissioned by a couple who were homesick for Louisiana. They've moved to Philadelphia and can't quite get used to the cold winters up there. It was done on a small, single-paned window, about 24" wide by 16" tall. |

Oh My Goth! This features a classic skull and crossbones in the center of the window flanked by a bleeding heart and a bloody red rose. There is a border of tiny skulls linked together by a chain. The background color is a combination of gray and blue swirls. One of the teeth on the grinning skull is gold. His eyes are red in a black field. The frame is practically paint free and what still shows is white on one side and black on the other. Outside of the frame measures 31 5/8" wide x 19 1/4" tall. Click on the picture for a larger image. $125. |

Dessert First This is a six-panel window painting featuring some of my favorite things to eat — desserts! My inspiration was an animated classic movie called "The Tune." In one song (it's a musical, of course) different foods start singing love songs to each other. There's a little personality showing up in the cake and the pie panels in this painting. The frame is white on both sides and measures 36" wide x 27" tall. Click on the picture for a larger image. $175. |
