This is a patio stone, about 2' x 2', that I made from colored concrete and carved with a pie face. I've made about a dozen of these so far, all different images. They're a lot of fun to do.
This is a figure study that I did a few months ago. I like drawing people, but I've decided I don't care about drawing strangers anymore. I think I'm going to concentrate on my kids from now on or at least people I like. It's good to know that I can still do this.
This is a pile of clean dishes. I construct one of these every day and I decided that I was going to start chronicling them. Still Life with Ziploc #456 or something like that.
I like taking pictures, too. This is one taken while we were camping. The light through my husband's arm is on the restroom at the campground. That's my oldest son seated behind my husband. I like the blue and yellow sky in the background and the red figures in front. Cool.
This is my first attempt at a concrete urn which I wasn't crazy about so I tried to make it more interesting by putting a mosaic on it. I've been exploring mosaics since then. I've been collecting different colored plates and breaking them up into mosaic sized pieces. I may try a stepping stone or two.
This is my first attempt at a concrete pebble mosaic. I like the concept and I want to do a bunch more of these. I figure the more of my landscape I cover with concrete the less mowing I'll have to do.
My girlfriend took me to a Gourd Festival in Palatka, FL last fall and I fell in love with the darn things so I decided to grow some. These are the first crop. My husband says he has a woodburning tool somewhere and I mean to use it this winter to torture the little buggers. Stay tuned.
